Liz

Liz holds a B.A. in Mathematics from Binghamton University and an M.A. in Secondary Math Education from Relay GSE. Growing up in Brooklyn, attending Brooklyn Technical High School, and being a product of the NYC school system, Liz takes her experiences as a student and educator to connect to students at a one-to-one level and continue to motivate student success. Liz has been teaching high school mathematics and coding for the DOE for the past four years. Over the past eight years, Liz has taught and tutored students of varying ages, from middle school learners working with fraction arithmetic and rates, to high school and college students taking Algebra through Calculus. In addition, Liz has tutored and prepared students for the SAT, ACT, TACHS, and SHSAT exams. Outside of teaching, Liz loves to explore new cities, bike, salsa dance, and read suspense novels.

Jonah

Jonah holds a B.F.A. in Theatre from New York University with a minor in Child and Adolescent Mental Health Studies. He is currently entering his final semester of graduate school at SUNY Plattsburgh, hoping to earn his Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. He grew up in Brooklyn and attended Brooklyn Technical High School. Being a product of the NYC school system, he takes his experiences as a former (and current) student and tutor to connect with students at a one-to-one level and continue to motivate student success.
He has been tutoring privately since 2020, helping prepare students for the SAT, ACT, HSPT, SHSAT, PSAT and SSAT. Outside of teaching, Jonah loves de-stigmazing conversations around mental health, walking around New York, petting dogs, discovering new restaurants, and of course, the Mets. -
Jenn

Jenn is a veteran educator who has devoted over 13 years to working professionally with learners of all ages, particularly on standardized testing. She began tutoring and mentoring nearly 2 decades ago as an undergraduate at Yale University, where she earned her Bachelor’s degree with the Honor of Distinction in Psychology, while also pursuing visual & dramatic arts—all disciplines she credits with helping her to connect with and inspire her students. Amidst her work in film & television, she has been recognized by the Austin Film Festival and the Academy of Motion Picture Arts & Sciences for her screenwriting, and particularly enjoys working with students on writing in addition to traditional academic subjects. Her work with teens also includes 3 summers at CTY, a rigorous academic immersion program at Johns Hopkins University.

Originally from San Antonio, Neil has been a tutor in the NYC market for over ten years. He has taught students one-on-one and in classroom settings in charter, public, and private schools. He has also taught at the PREP program, a science and math summer camp which teaches middle and high school students topics fundamental to careers in engineering and math. He specializes in all levels of mathematics, but has extensive experience with comprehensive test prep, as well. He is also an actor and a marathoner.

Emily

Emily earned her M.A. in Spanish Literature from the University of Delaware, after completing an Honors B.A. with Distinction in Anthropology. She is an experienced educator who has worked with students ages 5-18+. She has taught Spanish and English at both the high school and college level, and is currently teaching introductory Spanish in an online elementary school. Emily is interested in- and able to tutor- many subjects including Spanish, English, ESL, history, literature, and essay writing. She is also comfortable teaching adults and has a CELTA (Certification in Teaching English to Adults) from Cambridge University. When she is not teaching, Emily enjoys reading, knitting, and travelling.
